Allegro MicroSystems, LLC Receives ISO 26262 Certification

Worcester, MA– Allegro MicroSystems, LLC has been awarded the ISO 26262 process certification by SGS-TÜV Saar GmbH. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) released this safety standard in 2011 to comply with needs specific to the application sector of electrical/electronic (E/E) systems within road vehicles designated as:我SO 26262: Road Vehicles – Functional Safety. Allegro is a leading supplier of automotive electronic integrated circuits and is fully supportive of this safety initiative.

With the increased use of technologically complex electronics in automotive safety systems, it is critical that these systems are thoroughly designed, manufactured, validated as safe and reliable, and integrated with other systems in the automobile. The creation of an active Functional Safety (FuSa) culture has become an important corporate objective within Allegro and employees have undergone extensive training as part of our commitment to the automotive market. “This is a very important milestone for Allegro that reinforces our strong dedication to our automotive customers to provide safe and reliable components, designed in compliance with this state-of-the-art standard,” said, Lisa Clark, Functional Safety Manager.

Lisa is a contributing member to ISO/PAS 19451: ‘Application of ISO 26262 to Semiconductors’ and is one of three US delegates to the International Semiconductor subgroup.
